Post 8: English language challenges

Imagen
I must start by saying that for me English has always been something difficult, it has never been something fluid and enjoyable. Since I was a child my parents have put me in after school English courses and academies, however I have not learned because I have not really been interested. What I say is unfortunate because I know that English is more than just a language, it is a professional tool. Well, at the university at least the learning has been freer compared to the college, which has made the experience more pleasant. It is also a more practical learning and at the time of taking the written or oral test, it is more friendly since we have practiced before in blogs or videos. That's the good thing. However, as it has been more free, I prioritize other courses and put aside the English tasks (as now, sorry teacher). Going back to talking about blogs, I think they are useful since as the topics are varied, it serves to expand the vocabulary that I lack. What I need is t...

Post 7: Changes to my study programme

Imagen
As you know, I study dentistry. It is a career that lasts 6 years. I am in my fourth semester and so far I have done almost everything online so maybe my perspective is different. Starting with the curricular mesh, I would change compressing the first and second physics and chemistry modules into one, since the matter of the first modules is a subject learned in school. On the other hand, although I have not finished the program, I have heard a lot that the duration of the degree is excessive, considering that there are universities in which the duration is 5 to 5 and a half years at most. Also in anatomy, I think it is very important to always do the workshops in the medical school to be able to see the anatomical structures in corpses. In my case we could not do it and I feel that it affected me in the evaluation. Finally, in terms of structure, I think the faculty is very weak at this point. In the preclinical we are always fighting against the technical problems that exist. The uni...

Post 6: My favorite food

Imagen
In general I like all food, I eat everything, except meat. My family could say that the food I like the most is pasta because basically I eat them every time I can, I love them and they are easy to prepare, but no... my favorite food is a reinvention of pasta but more elaborate (according to me). I'm talking about lasagna. Why do I say it is a reinvention of pasta? because they are almost the same: dough with sauce, but also with cheese and other vegetables, baked. YUM. My favorite lasagna is the chard with cream from a restaurant I go to, although the one that is cooked at home is the classic one that Garfield eats, with bolognese sauce, but with vegetable protein because I am a vegetarian. Unfortunately I don't eat lasagna very often, only once a year for my birthday when my brother cooks it for me (and I love him so much for that). This is because the recipe has many steps so it takes a long time and I don't have that time. I would like to cook it more often be...

Post 5: My future job

Imagen
I think that as a student I have many job opportunities. I can dedicate myself to whatever I want, however I still have not decided well and I am afraid of making a mistake in the decision. As a future dentist, I can choose a specialty, the ones that most attract my attention are oral rehabilitation and orthodontics, whatever my choice, I will work on this in the dental box. Parallel to this, I would like to dedicate myself to public health, whether by creating health programs, outreach or others, but I am referring to a job outside the dental box, in contact with the communities. I think this duality can help me see oral health from two perspectives, which is something that dentists lose over time. In addition to the above, I would like to continue studying throughout my professional life, in different countries, to keep my knowledge up to date on new technologies, as long as my salary can pay, since many courses do not have a scholarship option or if they have scholarships you ...

Post 4: Musician that I like

Imagen
I think the music I listen to depends a lot on my state of mind, although most of the time it is happy and if it is not happy, then I want to be happy and music helps me a lot to that, to encourage me.  For example in the mornings when I just want to continue sleeping, I listen to music to activate myself and start my day, I also listen to energetic music for jogging.   That is why one of the singers that I listen to the most is Ariana Grande, although she obviously also has slower songs, but she that she listens to them for other moods.  I remember that I liked it in the summer of 2019 when I went on vacation to my cousin Paula's house and she listened to her music all the time, from there I follow her career and I would love to go to her concert.   This is one of the songs that I listen to the most because she is very motivated and sings with the queen Lady Gaga.  It's called Rain On Me and it's from the Chomatica album.  Besides the melody, I love the vi...

Post 3: Series that I recommend

Imagen
This is a very complex issue for me, because I really like watching series. I watch series to pass the time, that catch me, that make me laugh and others that make me cry, but this time I will recommend a series that touched my heart because it is a cute and sweet series, that feels like a balm for the heart . I'm talking about "Anne With An E". It is an adaptation of a 1908 Lucy Maud Montgomery children's book. It was created by Moira Walley-Beckett and premiered in 2017 on Netflix. It has three seasons, each with 10 episodes that last 44 minutes. The plot is about an orphan girl, 13-year-old Anne Shirley, who is sent by mistake to the Green Gables farm where brothers Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert live, who had in fact adopted a boy to help them in their work of countryside.                      I especially recommend it to see as a family, as I did. They will laugh, cry, get angry, everything, because it is a story that cou...

Post 2: My best holidays ever

Imagen
My best holidays ever were with my parents in the winter of 2014.  We traveled through Europe for half a month and visited some cities in Italy, Paris (France), London (England) and Athens (Greece). In Italy we went to my godmother's house in Ancona and there we went to the beach on the shores of the Adriatic Sea. We also went to Rome where we visited the Roman Colosseum and the Arch of Constantine. In Paris we visit the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe next to the Champs Elysées. We also visited the Museé du Louvre where we saw Leonardo Da Vinci's famous painting "La Gioconda".  In London we visit Buckingham Palace, London Tower and London Bridge which rises under the waters of the River Thames. We also visit the British museum where the moai stolen from Rapa Nui is.  And the best of the trip for the end, we visit Athens and the Acropolis, a city built on top where the life of the ancient Greeks developed and where there are temples like the Parthenon which was b...
